The Marina at Christophe Harbour Opens

It was unquestionably one for the history books. Fireworks, Grammy-Award winning artists, and superyachts as far as the eye could see. The Marina at Christophe Harbour certainly opened with a bang.

Former front man for Hootie & the Blowfish and multi-platinum recording artist Darius Rucker headlined the evening before a crowd of 1,500 people at the marina site. A fireworks show above the marina was the exclamation point to what was truly the most memorable night in Christophe Harbour's history.

The marina team leapt into action for the weekend's festivities welcoming a dozen or more vessels, ranging from 45 to 73 meters, to our docks to participate in the festivities and experience the Caribbean's newest homeport.

The marina comes online at a time where the yachting industry is stronger than it has been in years. New yacht builds are up, charter business is booming, and there is a real appetite for new destinations like St. Kitts and Nevis that provide unique experiences. With the addition of the YU Lounge private jet terminal last year, Christophe Harbour is perfectly poised to meet that demand and welcome superyacht owners and charter guests for any vessel beginning and ending a charter.

The marina opened with 24 alongside 150 to 220-foot berths, nine of which are under contract as part of the Marina Founders' offering. Services include in-slip fueling, electricity from state-of-the-art pedestals, and VIP customs and clearance onsite. The marina office is open onsite daily with a hospitality kiosk by Colicci London serving ice cream, coffee, juices, and freshly made sandwiches and pastries.

Construction on the first shoreside building is expected to begin this quarter and be complete by early 2016. Upon opening, this facility will house marina operations, guest services, customs, real estate sales, crew facilities, and fitness. The Customs House will be roughly 13,000 sq ft, designed by John Denton Haley, who also designed The Pavilion, Bungalows, and SALT Plage.
