Peter Insull Receives the Richard Earp Award

Peter Insull has received the Richard Earp Award presented by Gaye Joyeau-Bourgeois, President of MYBA, during The Superyacht Show in Barcelona.

This is an annual prize presented by LYBRA (the Large Yacht Brokers Association) and MYBA (The Worldwide Yachting Association) as a tribute to Richard Earp's gentlemanly conduct and integrity in dealing with colleagues and clients. Nominees are judged on their transparency, fair and ethical behaviour, charisma and style and must be well respected and still active in the superyacht industry.

Peter Insull began his yachting career as a steward onboard MY Hedonist, later setting up Peter Insull Yacht Marketing in the 1970s. Through his crew agency and his work as a yacht broker, Peter has been involved with every aspect of the superyacht sector and is well known across teh industry.

Jonathan Beckett, CEO of Burgess and President of LYBRA commented, “Peter is greatly admired and highly respected by all those who have the good fortune to work with him whether as a client or as a fellow broker.”

The ISS (International Superyacht Society) was the Official Partner of The Richard Earp Award 2018 and ISS Board Member, Norma Trease, was present to congratulate Peter on behalf of Captain AJ Anderson, the current President.

The award itself is a beautiful ocean themed sculpture, 'Ocean’s 9', created by artist Carol Bruton and generously offered by LYBRA and MYBA. 

About LYBRA:
LYBRA is a trade association for superyacht brokerage companies with a fleet of Central Agency yachts above 30 meters. It aims to unite the largest brokerage companies to discuss current issues and the future of the superyacht industry.

About MYBA:
MYBA was founded in 1984 and its members are active at all levels within the superyacht industry, including yacht sales, yacht charter, technical management and the construction of large yachts. 

About ISS:
ISS was founded in 1989 and represents the large yacht industry. Their mission is to build alliances with regional and global associations, to communicate issues affecting the superyacht market, yacht owners, crew and industry members, to provide educational and networking opportunities and to recognize prefoessional achievement.
