Hill Robinson has expanded its services in the Eastern Mediterranean with an office in the center of Nicosia. Having had a presence in Cyprus since 2012, this Cyprus office, run by Director Stelios Kazamia, was opened in October 2015. Now with four extra staff and a pesence also in Limasol, Hill Robinson Cyrus expects further expansion in the next few years.
Cyprus having been a member of the European Union since 2004, has a regulatory regime in conformity with the requirements of the EU and OECD and, following Brexit, the economic and political links are very important. The law on the island is based on English common law and Cyprus has one of the lowest EU corporate tax rates at 12.5%, as well as a network of favourable tax treaties, making it high on the list of preferred jurisdictions for international tax planners.
The Cyprus office now has several vessels under management, and services include technical, operational, crew, commercial and project management, and payment administration. This ensures oversight and approval and subsequent remittance of supplier invoices, credit cards and ship’s cash utilising Hill Robinson's HRipay secure online approval system.
The team also provides a stakeholder function for owners and charterers, ensuring charter fees, APAs and, where applicable, VAT, are paid in accordance with MYBA Charter Agreements.
Working to provide the highest level of service to our clients, Hill Robinson Cyprus will contribute significantly to the Group’s growing presence and capabilities in the Eastern Mediterranean, just as the island is seeing a rise in yachting activities and a growing number of larger yachts visiting the marina in Limassol.
