Interior Yacht Services, training partner of Warsash Superyacht Academy, announces its Luxury Hospitality Training Program; professional training for the interior crewmember.

Interior Yacht Services is delighted to announce that it will run its Luxury Hospitality Training Program in The Netherlands, starting February 2014.   This pioneering initiative provides the industry with its first complete interior training program of its kind from introduction to management level.

Interior Yacht Services, training partner of Warsash Superyacht Academy, has developed this curriculum to provide the industry with a one-stop shop for interior training on all levels.

Peter Vogel, Managing Director of IYS comments:

“We are excited that we will be able to offer tools to the individual crewmembers in our industry. After successfully providing our training and consultancy services on board during the last 5 years, offering professional training on land feels like a natural progression.  Besides the fact that our base is here, The Netherlands is home to some of the most well known shipyards [Feadship, Oceanco and Amels to name a few] and suppliers in our industry, which assisted greatly in making our decision”.

The Luxury Hospitality training program has been accredited through the PYA Guest [Guidelines for Unified Excellence Service training] certification program.  IYS provides the interior crewmember support throughout their yachting career. With introduction, intermediate and management courses there is training available at the correct level for any [aspiring] interior crewmember. True professionals teach our courses, the combination from field experts and industry professionals makes for dynamic, inspiring and educative sessions.

Joey Meen, Training and Certification Director of the Professional Yachting Association (PYA), recently said: “It is a pleasure to have IYS on - board as an approved accredited PYA Training Provider offering the GUEST training at all levels to interior crew. IYS are well equipped to offer the high end training requirements and standards that PYA have laid out in the GUEST programme for those crew member s following the progressive training route”.

IYS further prides itself with the appointment of a class guardian. Mr de Wit, one of our senior trainers, will provide constant support to the students during the classes and beyond. Mr de Wit, a Master in the Royal Household, a title bestowed by H.R.H Queen Elizabeth II, is a true gentleman whose goal since leaving the Palace is to share his knowledge with the younger generation.

The Yacht Introduction course is a 5-day customized program. This course will best prepare the hospitality enthusiast to join our industry.

The Intermediate & Management courses are all specially designed so that the student can attend specific topics in effective 5-day programs. IYS offers the following modules:

1.  Bartending, Barista & Tea  2.  Housekeeping, Laundry & Floristry  3.  Service Specialist 4  Wine Knowledge

IYS runs these courses consecutively in February ensuring that the crewmember is able to attend them all when time allows.

Furthermore IYS offers our long anticipated Luxury Hospitality Interior Yacht Management course. This course is specially designed to prepare the interior leader to become a better manager and completes our professional learning process for the interior department. We are excited to start running this course in collaboration with global experts in leadership development training, Blanchard International. IYS is proud to be the first training provider in our industry who offers the PYA GUEST accredited management course.

Completing the service, IYS provides comfort packages to ensure that the student’s focus is on the training. The comfort packages include pick up / drop-off to airport, lodging and meals throughout their stay.

Lars Lippuner, Business Development Manager at Warsash Superyacht Academy comments: “IYS has been a training partner of Warsash Superyacht Academy since the beginning and there is no doubt that Peter Vogel and his team have a very well - deserved reputation for the excellence of the training they provide. This new initiative complements new training opportunities for interior crew that have at long last come to the industry.”
