Yacht Haven Grande at Island Gardens: The Ultimate Event Location in Miami

With Miami already headlining as the party capital of the East Coast, now there’s even more reason to consider Miami as the location of choice for an unforgettable event.

After all, what could be more amazing than a perfectly curated party on the water’s edge, with one of finest city skylines right in front of you?

Yacht Haven Grande in Miami is rapidly making a name for itself not only as the city’s finest superyacht marina but also as a glamorous venue for hosting fashion shows, F1 parties, corporate gatherings and cultural and arts events.

With capacity to berth 50 superyachts up to 550’ (167m), this destination marina situated between downtown Miami and iconic Miami Beach, just a 10 minute drive away, is the perfect base from which to access South Florida’s year round social calendar.

But YHGM is going further to meet growing demand among discerning hosts looking for ever more impressive settings to wow clients and VIP guests.

IGY Event Haven for five star entertaining

IGY Event Haven at Island Gardens, adjacent to the marina, is quite simply the most exclusive private event venue in Miami; an intimate, five star setting for corporate or non-profit events, awards ceremonies, cocktail parties, product launches, private concerts and celebrations small or large.

Boasting a total space of 80,000 square feet with capacity for a whopping 2,750 guests, individual entertainment zones include the VIP Marina Lounge (50 guests), The Deck (500 guests), The Boardwalk (200 guests) and Production Lawn (2000 guests).

As IGY’s marketing manager Arianna Haskelson explains, Yacht Haven Grande’s versatile event spaces, overlooking the incredible Miami skyline, are hard to beat. “Our marina office and outdoor section itself holds around 100 people so that’s also ideal for a gathering,” she says.

‘We are trying to attract a wider clientele to the marina to make use of our event spaces, as they are ideal locations for filming music videos and movie productions. The space can be used for anything from small business gatherings to elite fashions shows. It’s currently word of mouth, we are reaching out to our connections and we’re making things happen.”

The jewel in the crown is the cityscape backdrop, with Arianna adding: “The view itself is the main draw – it’s the entire Miami skyline, which is beautiful during the day and even more stunning at night.

“YHGM is accessible and easy to find for people attending events but it has the added benefit of being very private as well. There is 24 hour security so the general public is not able to walk in.”

The most memorable Miami parties

YHGM has already hosted a number of spectacular parties tied in with prestigious cultural, arts and sporting fixtures. As well as an event celebrating the Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh memorial fashion show, YHGM hosted invited VIP guests at the Diego Luca Superyacht Lounge during the inaugural Miami Grand Prix last year, and Diego Luca followed this up with an exclusive Once Upon a Time in Pan Am event during Art Basel last winter.

High profile superyachts in the marina for that event included Elysian, Exuma, Bravo Eugenia, Kisses and Gene Machine, the sister yacht to Gene Chaser which hosted the glittering launch party for IGY’s exclusive Trident membership program in May 2022.

Such was the success of these events that  YHGM will host another Art Basel party and before that, an F1 VIP networking event during the second Grand Prix this spring. YHGM also supports the Miami Boat Show with a Superyacht Lounge and a fashion show celebrating Swim Week is also planned.

When it comes to catering for large scale events at Yacht Haven Grande Miami, the possibilities are endless. With Miami being a melting pot of international cuisine, event planners can choose their own chef or restaurant or speak to the onsite team to discuss private catering options.

“You can choose who you want to cater if you have a particular chef or restaurant in mind,” adds Arianna, “Miami-based clientele already know about YHGM but we’d also like to attract clients from other cities to host their events here when they’re in town. Miami is known for its party vibe and is famous for its nightlife so the two go hand in hand.”

What’s on offer at Yacht Haven Grande Miami at Island Gardens

YHGM also scores highly in terms of infrastructure. Golf carts are available to transport guests between yachts and event spaces and there’s also an onsite helicopter landing pad.

The city centre location at Island Gardens inside the Miami Causeway also allows easy access to all that Miami has to offer, from iconic South Beach and Art Deco themed Ocean Drive to the Fashion District, Coconut Grove and beyond.

Further amenities include a Captain and Crew lounge and BBQ area, conference room and business centre, parking and onsite dining. You’ll also find customs and immigration assistance, valet service, laundry and dry cleaning, regulated waste removal and secure storage.

The marina team on the ground collaborates with all the superyacht industry’s leading providers to coordinate arrangements for fuelling, provisioning, concierge services and any other requirements to satisfy the world’s most iconic vessels.

Of course, being a year round destination, visiting yachts can also take advantage of the lower summer season dockage rates from 1 June to 30 October 2023. “It’s a slower season for us, with many yachts travelling to other areas of the world. We want to treat those who decide to stay in the Miami area,” explains Arianna. “Yacht Haven Grande is such a large superyacht marina, and views like this just don’t exist in many marinas in Florida, let alone around the world.”
