French Polynesia with Etienne Boutin, Yacht Agent

When you think of Tahiti, you think of palm trees and reefs and beautiful people living the simple island life. All of this is true, but French Polynesia is a semi-autonomous territory of France and it's a slick operation. In the words of Etienne Boutin, CEO of Tahiti Ocean, "When it comes to superyachts we've got everything covered!" We recently caught up with Etienne in Tahiti's Marina Taina to find out more.

Q&A: Pascal Bredin of Seal Superyachts Tahiti

Pascal Bredin is General Manager of Seal Superyachts Tahiti and a passionately biased promoter of the archipelago as a superyacht destination. The Tahitian native has lived and worked here his whole life, graduating from the shipyards to become a captain and then a yacht agent. Over lunch on the idyllic Coco Beach we chatted with Pascal about his career and his love of the 118 islands he calls home.

French Polynesia, an archipelago of 118 islands, has been subject to many conservation measures endorsed by the local government over the past 15 years. This has helped protect marine wildlife in a pollution free environment and the territory is recognised as a model for other smaller island nations in the region. But are things about to change?

Q&A: Pat Codere, Charter Manager at Fraser

The role of a charter manager goes far beyond booking beautiful holidays. They have to know the available yachts by heart and also keep on top of trends and destinations on behalf of superyacht owners and guests. Pat Codere at Fraser also highlights the vital role of a yacht's crew and the importance of first hand knowledge to deliver the experience clients are looking for.

Diving Fakarava Atoll: The Mystery of the Groupers

There is a hidden gem in the remote South Pacific called Fakarava, one of the numerous tiny dots on the map of French Polynesia in the Tuamotu archipelago, northeast of Tahiti. There's a special atmosphere here and a unique and varied ecosystem where sharks share their territory with small tropical fish and every snorkel or dive encounter is different.

Trends in Yacht Charter with Bianca Nestor at Burgess

Discovery trips are a perk of the job for yacht charter brokers, but there's no better way to sell the dream than to experience it first hand. As well as confidence in the yacht and its crew, clients increasingly expect detailed knowledge about a destination and what's on offer. On a recent trip to French Polynesia, Bianca Nestor of Burgess shared her views on current hotspots and trends in the charter market.

Superyacht Experts Discuss Hidden Treasures of the South Pacific

To promote the South Pacific as a cruising destintion, a cross-national alliance of Australia, Fiji, Tahiti and New Zealand have launched a website to showcase all that the region has to offer, making it easier for visiting superyachts to plan ahead.
