General Information & Marina Services

Margate Marina is situated in North West Bay, just 15nm south of Hobart. It is the gateway marina to the acclaimed cruising grounds of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. It’s a newly redeveloped marina, currently with 130 floating berths (expanding to 300 berths) ranging from 10m to 40m.

What makes Margate Marina unique? It is the only marina in Tasmania offering dedicated berths over 35m as well as this combination of customer benefits. The office is open 7 days a week, plus there's 24-hour CCTV, daily boat checks, members-only access after-hours, a dual fuel pontoon, free pump-out facilities, ample parking and a fully operational slip yard Slipping currently limited to 60’ and 23 tonnes.

Only a 20 minute drive south of Hobart, the marina has specially engineered systems to offer berth safety and security in an amazing location. It offers direct access to the acclaimed cruising waters of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, sheltered waters, stunning scenery and beautiful bays.

There are also floating pontoon berths from 10m to 40m each with power and water, generous manoeuvring room between berth arms and daily boat checks.

Power
All berths have 1 x 15amp connection. In addition, the 20m berths have 32amp 3 phase connections and the 25m, 30m and 40m berths have 63amp 3 phase outlets.

Water
The 10m to 18m berths share a 12mm (½”) hose tap with the adjoining berth.
The 20m to 40m berths each have their own 12mm (½ inch) tap.
