Les Voiles d'Antibes 2019 - A Celebration of Yachting

Voiles dAntibes 2

Since 1996 Les Voiles d'Antibes has marked the start of the Mediterranean Circuit for classic yachts in the first week of June every year. From 2006 to 2018, it was also the first stage in the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge. This year, Les Voiles d'Antibes takes place from 5 to 9 June.

Opening the season, Les Voiles d'Antibes hosts a selection of the most beautiful yachts that have shaped the history of international yachting since the late 19th century. These include Vintage Yachts (built before 1950), Classic Yachts (built before 1976), newer yachts designed in the classic spirit, and the 'classes métriques' which are the 6 MJI, 8 MJI and 12 MJI yachts that competed in the America's Cup between 1958 and 1987.

For most participants, this prestigious get-together is the first important rendezvous of the new yachting season. With the arrival of spring, the yachts have rejoined their home ports in the Mediterranean having undergone renovations or updates in the winter months to improve their performance. Others will have changed their crew, but each June locals and fans gather to catch a glimpse of iconic yachts like Ikra, Sovereign, Thendara, Lelantina, Outlaw, Adria, Cambria and Tuiga which have been regular competitors for years.

Les Voiles d'Antibes is famous both for its camaraderie ashore and the quality of the races stretching the length of the coast from Antibes to Juan-les-Pins.

In the Village des Voiles and Port Vauban, the largest marina on the French Riviera, you're assured a warm welcome with activities and exhibits related to the sea, plus an array of evening parties and live music.
