As we begin 2018, boot Düsseldorf is gearing up for its 49th edition, which promises to be more interactive and engaging than ever, riding on the back of a successful and optimistic 2017 for the boating industry. With over 1,800 exhibitors the boat show is one of the largest and most diverse in the world, attracting representatives and visitors from all corners of the nautical sector.

Anticipated world debuts from international companies and German shipbuilders will provide plenty of talking points.

The transport and unloading of the sailing and motor boats is itself a spectacle, which has already seen the majestic Princess 35m travel from Plymouth up the Rhine. Besides the Princess, which is the largest yacht to be exhibited this year, are Italian luxury yachts by Ferreti and Azimut, and the Majesty 100 from Dubai.

One industry trend that shows no sign of abating is the increased focus on destinations and lifestyle, bridging the gap between the professional and amateur worlds and broadening the appeal of boat shows to the prospective holidaymaker.

To this end, Boot Travel World is a new showcase of nautical holidays certain to lift everyone's spirits with a dash of summer escapism. All areas will be represented, from surfing trips, fishing tours, diving holidays, paddle boarding and charter. Cruising experts will be on hand to help you plan your next itinerary.

Similarly, the unmistakeable movement across our industry to find more sustainable, innovative and eco-friendly ways to do business and enjoy the oceans is given a platform at Boot Düsseldorf, where the inaugural Ocean Tribute award will be bestowed upon the creator of a project designed to improve the cleanliness of oceans and waterways. Make sure to visit the Love Your Ocean stage (Hall 4) to hear from passionate campaigner Emily Penn and take part in the debate.
