ACREW is pleased to announce that the 2nd edition of ACREW & STP’s Continuous Professional Progression Courses were a roaring success.  This event, in collaboration with STP, took place on 23rd & 24th October and brought together crew and industry leaders in crew professional development for workshops and networking.

From beginning to end, the event was a perfect way to learn, network and enjoy the professional atmosphere. The sun shone on as almost 500 superyacht crew participated in 18 workshops delivered by top specialists. The varied workshops were very highly rated, the networking lunches were enjoyed by all and the grand finale Crew BBQ & Party was a fantastic way to end such a successful event.

This was the 2nd edition of Superyacht Professional Development by ACREW in partnership with STP. STP Shipyard Palma, currently filled with 100 yachts, made the perfect setting for the event. The management of STP recognise the importance of not only entertaining crew during their refit period but also facilitating professional development that will support constant improvement in service and safety on board.

The feedback and results of the workshops have been phenomenal. The ACREW team, together with STP, are already working on how we can surpass it at our 3rd edition in February 2015.

From investigating the Diesel Bug, to the finer techniques of Fruit Carving and from Splicing to Fabric Stain Removal, facilitators delivered outstanding professional development to every crew member in attendance.

The workshops were conducted in the first class facilities at the APEAM building, with an average of 25 delegates attending every workshop. The 18 workshops were provided by our partners Fuelcare, Krings, Impact Crew, Da Gama Maritime, Fine Wine Works, Escapade, Delicioso, Dovaston Crew, Trabajos en Cabos, Global Management-Formex, The Galley Club, Atlante Group, Nautical Academy and Marine Light Corp.

Each day was kicked off with a healthy start thanks to the Juice shots offered by Palma Health.  At lunchtime crew delegates were treated to a sumptuous buffet provided by Delicioso complimented with a glass of wine from Fine Wine Works. Lunch also provided a relaxed networking environment as well as a chance for some personal development for crew.

Our partners at St. James Place and Fund Advisors were on hand to share their expertise on financial planning, helping crew look after their future.

After 2 days of intensive learning, crew were invited to unwind at our STP & ACREW Crew Party featuring EventsbyZoom Resident DJ Dani L. Mebius and Crew DJ Nick Percy. Hundreds of crew joined us for a great evening of top class music, including a free hog roast and complimentary drinks.
