New Training Facility for Luxury Hospitality Academy

When luxury hospitality specialist Peter Vogel enters a room, his energy comes with him, a contagious enthusiasm drawing everyone into his realm of hospitality and service. Last week the relentless optimist was spotted just around the corner when he thought no one was looking, performing a dance of glee. Why? Because the Luxury Hospitality Academy has just launched its new training courses at the stunning Waterland Estate in Velsen, The Netherlands.

Luxury Hospitality Training

Luxury Hospitality Management has now completed its relocation from the historic SS Rotterdam in Rotterdam to the graceful and stately Waterland Estate in Velsen and on Sunday the first 10 students for the Leadership & Management Course arrived.
On Luxury Hospitality Management courses students are also guests. The Estate provides elegant rooms with stately ensuite bathrooms and trainees are received with grace and elegance.

Students Get Pampered

Guests of the magnificent house, built in the 18th century, are looked after by Lady of the Wil, and Executive Chef Thijs, who creates mouthwatering dishes and culinary art in an historic but modern kitchen. “Participant Emanuella told me her stay was sheer ‘pampering’ and I take that as a huge compliment”, says Peter Vogel.

The Waterland Estate in Amsterdam

What makes the hospitality-specialist particularly happy is the inspiring surroundings of the faculty. The Waterland Estate was formerly home to butler training provided by the International Butler Academy. René Verkade was the CEO of this academy and the proprietor of the Waterland Estate. The mansion has a heart and soul that breathes service and hospitality so naturally René was excited by our arrival - the venue can continue to operate as it was meant to be; a perfect learning environment for the absolute best in hospitality training.
The estate houses a range of venues, including a finely appointed tearoom, a stately dining room, a gorgeous breakfast kitchen and a cozy martini bar often frequented at the end of an intense day of training. Together with the luxury en-suite bedrooms, the facility caters to every conceivable aspect of hospitality training.

Leadership & Management Training

“On the Leadership & Management Training our goal is to bring out the best in people. Bring their talents to a higher level and sometimes bring back the passion and sparkle to some who may have lost it after years on board superyachts. What was the reason they chose this profession again? Does the passion for rendering service at the highest level still rest in their soul?” says Peter.
“This estate is an enormous asset to help them find that passion again. And once our students/guests find that fire again they are able to pass on the sparkle to their crew. This enables them to create a dream team to make every yacht owner proud and happy. Then our mission is accomplished!”.
