One of the world’s leading yacht brokerage houses, YPI, is sponsoring the third Mimosa Ball this spring to help raise funds for the fight against cancer on the Cote d’Azur.

The Monaco-based company is joining forces with Mimosa Matters to host the glittering Black Tie event at the Royal Mougins Golf Club and raise tens of thousands of euros towards cancer research and support in the area.

‘We are delighted to announce the Mimosa Ball 2017 in association with Yachting Partners International,’ said Mimosa committee member Ellie Goblet d’Alviella. ‘We are thrilled that YPI has come onboard to support us and further the fight against cancer. It’s wonderful to have the partnership of such a well respected company here on the Riviera.’

This year’s event looks set to significantly increase the €140,000 plus already raised by Mimosa Matters over the last four years through various events including the annual ball, Cannes cocktail evening, quiz nights, clothes sales and two Nice Marathon teams which each raised well in excess of €20,000 in 2015 and 2016.

The nest egg has largely funded the second Espace Ligue in the Alpes Maritimes, which opened its doors in Antibes in autumn 2015, offering guidance, support and holistic and alternative therapies to cancer patients and their families under the direction of La Ligue Contre le Cancer.

One of several Espace Ligues across France, the centre provides an invaluable service, as does Cancer Support Group 06, a new beneficiary of Mimosa which was set up eight years ago to support cancer patients in the Anglophone community.

‘CSG06 provides everything from legal counsel and linguistic assistance at medical appointments to moral support and help,’ adds Ellie. ‘They do sterling work in the area and we are delighted to be able to reach out to this body at the frontline of the fight against cancer to help even more people.

‘In the long-term, we will be looking to fund an awareness campaign with La Ligue to highlight and target the lesser known cancers either regionally or nationally.’

And so to the evening itself. The Mimosa Ball takes place on May 13th and guests will enjoy Champagne and cocktails on the Royal Mougins’s panoramic terrace followed by a three course gourmet dinner, an auction hosted by veteran property auctioneer Lucy Crapper, a silent auction and a raffle. The evening will be rounded off by a DJ and dancing.

Among the fantastic array of lots to bid for are a Table du Chef on the busy pass at le Mas Candille’s Michelin starred restaurant Le Candille, a deluxe two centre break in Bali at the stunningly situated Tugu Hotel and Pramana Experience resort with travel provided by Rinck, a round of golf at the world renowned Vidauban course in Provence and a wellness retreat at Abi’s combining treatments, nutrition advice, meditation and delicious food by leading Cote d’Azur caterer Sara Parks for eight friends.

Or you could kick off the summer season by bidding for a beach day and lunch at Club Dauphin at the five-star Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, a boat charter or a gastronomic three course dinner cooked at your home by Alain Ducasse-trained chef Rachel Westerlund along with a sommelier from Emporium du Vin and produce from Ocean’s Pantry.

Gastro fans can also bid for lunch at Ile Saint-Honorat’s stunning La Tonnelle, accompanied by wines made by the monks at the monastery, or an hour in conversation on air with Riviera Radio’s Dusty Rhodes. The wellness theme continues with treatments from leading masseuse Kate Threadgold, a private yoga class with Scaravelli-inspired teacher Faye Villalba and a signed author copy of the newly released book The Boy in 7 Billion.
