French Social Security: The Answers, 17 May in Monaco

In light of the recent Decree regarding changes to French Social Security payments for seafarers, GEPY, PYA and IYM are hosting a seminar at the Monaco Yacht Club on the evening of Wednesday 17 May from 6-9pm.

A panel of experts will address the many unanswered questions that the yachting community has, and this will be the first time that representatives from the French Government have liaised directly with our sector in this way. The speakers will present in French and there will be English translation with a bi-lingual chairperson.

Entrance & Registration:

Attendance is free for members of any of the three associations involved, and you will receive a unique code by email which you'll need to enter when you register. All attendance must be registered in advance and registration closes at midday on the day of the seminar. If you have not received a code, or your code does not work, please contact PYA for assistance. For non-members there is a 25 Euro entrance fee. Please arrive by 17h30 at the latest.

The panel will include:

Patrick Chaumette (Professor of Maritime Social Security and Law at Nantes University)
The lawyer for ENIM (the mariners' social security regime)
Representatives from Direction des Affaires Maritimes (DAM)

Agenda:

  • Welcome and introductions

  • Overview of the Decree including ILO maritime conventions, MLC 2006, residence v domicile.

  • Questions and answers - the three associations have collected a range of questions from members and government representatives will provide answers on the day. There will also be questions from the floor. Note: If you would like to submit specific questions ahead of the event, please send them to info@pya.org

  • Drinks served in the Yacht Club.
